About the program
Officially, 2273 people died from suicide in 2011 in Australia.
This represents a death approximately every 3½ hours, and the trend is rising!
It’s important to note that suicide rates do vary across different communities and are significantly higher for:
* People experiencing treatable mental illness
* Indigenous communities
* People who live in rural and remote communities
* Groups such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and intersexual people.
Conversations for life® is a suicide prevention program for those interested in keeping people they care for safe and connected.
This half-day, facilitator led program focuses on the communication and influencing skills required to help people that may be overwhelmed with issues, and not waiting for them to be in a crisis situation.
Become more confident and influential in your conversations to prevent potential suicidal thinking and behaviour.
